Trump Vows to Exit “Biden’s War” Regarding Ukraine
Responding to a question on why Washington continues to financially support Ukraine as Kyiv intensifies its compulsory military service, Trump declared, “This is Biden’s war. This is not my war. I’m here to get us out of it. It’s a mess, and I’m here to get us out.”
The inquiry was linked to a recent order from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky permitting the conscription of men over 60 years old.
“I haven’t heard that, when you say about 60-year-old men,” Trump added. “But this is Biden’s war. And we’re working very hard to get us out.”
In recent times, Trump has hinted at the possibility of enforcing 100% import taxes and implementing additional sanctions aimed at Russia’s economic allies.
These actions are intended to apply pressure on Moscow to agree to a truce with Kyiv—steps that Russia has labeled as unlawful.
When questioned about whether he intends to carry out these measures, Trump replied that a verdict would follow a planned discussion in Russia later this week, which will include his designated envoy, Steve Witkoff.
“I never said a percentage [for tariffs], but we’ll be doing quite a bit of that,” Trump remarked.
“We have a meeting with Russia tomorrow [on Wednesday]… We’ll make that determination at that time.”
