Iran Reveals Resuming Nuclear Talks with IAEA

(MENAFN) Iran announced on Monday that it is set to begin a fresh phase of negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the near future.

These upcoming talks are expected to be held within the next several days, following a recent visit to Tehran by IAEA Deputy Director General Massimo Aparo.

During a press conference, Foreign Ministry representative Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that Aparo’s visit aimed to “examine how Iran and the agency interacted” in the aftermath of joint US-Israeli assaults on Iranian nuclear infrastructure earlier in June.

The attacks occurred while Iran was involved in nuclear discussions with the United States, facilitated by Oman.

On June 13, Israel carried out a sudden offensive against Tehran, striking not only military and atomic facilities but also targeting civilians, senior military officials, and nuclear experts.

In response, Iran launched missile and drone operations, while the United States retaliated by bombing three Iranian nuclear installations.

This 12-day period of conflict came to an end with a ceasefire proposed by the United States, which officially began on June 24.
