Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas Yan Jiarong Attends the Fourth Chinese Calligraphy Festival

On July 30, 2026, H.E. Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, attended the fourth Chinese Calligraphy Festival hosted by the Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA). Senator Robyn Lynes, Dr. Moxey, President of BCFA, and over one hundred of Bahamian friends from all walks of life with an interest in Chinese culture also attended.

Ambassador Yan used vivid examples to illustrate the profound cultural heritage embodied in Chinese characters and the art of calligraphy.

Ambassador Yan noted that the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping pointed the way toward harmonious coexistence among different civilizations. China stands ready to work with The Bahamas to further deepen cultural exchanges and enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Participants enthusiastically took part in the quiz on Chinese calligraphy, history and culture. They also picked up Chinese brushes to practice calligraphy with Chinese Embassy staff and tried speaking Mandarin, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

Ambassador Yan was interviewed by the national TV station ZNS and the leading online media Eyewitness.
